Machiels Building Solutions (MBS), the timber frame construction company from Genk belonging to Group Machiels, has built 89 holiday homes in collaboration with contractor Van Roey from Rijkevorsel at Veerse Meer near the marina of the authentic village of Wolphaartsdijk in Zeeland (NL).
For the second phase of this holiday park, MBS provided wind and watertight holiday homes for 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 people, finished with wood or façade strips, at a pace of 5 homes per week.
MBS firmly believes that sustainable building should be easy, fast, and high-quality at an affordable price. In the Genk factory, the installations were running at full capacity to quickly and flawlessly produce the timber frame elements, including windows, doors, and wooden cladding. The elements were then assembled on-site in one day into luxury holiday homes, causing minimal disruption to phase 1 of the park, which is already in operation. In this way, the client’s wishes for an ecological building method with minimal environmental impact and speed with minimal disturbance were fully met.
Additionally, the homes are well insulated, do not use fossil fuels, and fully comply with the Dutch building code, all of which are additional advantages ensuring that future owners do not have to worry about energy costs. After the on-site assembly, contractor Van Roey completed the roof with tiles, installed the utilities, and finished the interiors.
MBS and contractor Van Roey aimed to fully complete all 89 homes by winter 2023. For MBS, this means the realization of almost 1,000 prefab timber frame holiday homes over the past years. That’s quite impressive, isn’t it?
