In Genk, 80 homes will roll off the production line in 80 days, and we have been given permission to build another 30 holiday homes in 2025.
Machiels Building Solutions, the Genk-based Group Machiels company that manufactures timber-frame houses in its own workshop, has successfully started producing 80 bungalows for Center Parcs Germany at a rate of one house per day. This will lead to an expansion of 30 additional holiday homes (10 x 3) in 2025.
Machiels Building Solutions (MBS) has already built 401 holiday homes in Germany’s largest holiday park, Park Allgäu, located at the foot of the Alps. In 2020, MBS engineered, manufactured and delivered 115 timber-frame prefab 3D construction units for Center Parcs De Eemhof in Zeewolde (NL) and in Dilsen-Stokken, Belgium, on the former mining site, 250 energy-efficient timber-frame villas were constructed in Terhills holiday park within a span of 10 months.
“At the beginning of September last year, we produced a demo bungalow in our production hall in Genk. This holiday home was shell while MBS can also deliver turnkey homes. Meanwhile, 80 holiday homes have been produced and assembled at a rate of 1 home per day. After all, Center Parcs aims to reopen the park completely renovated at the end of May 2023.
The expansion or phase 2 of this project has now also been completed. In the first half of 2025, Machiels Building Solutions was commissioned to produce and assemble 30 additional holiday homes (10 x 3 units) at this unique location.
