Enschede Nederland – Renovation BAM homes

Twenty-eight of the 33 existing homes in Enschede’s Bijvank-Noord neighbourhood were renovated. The building envelopes were replaced with new timber envelopes, using timber façade elements entirely prefabricated by Machiels Building Solutions. The exterior joinery and ducts for power cables and other technical services were prefitted at the plant, considerably reducing the assembly time and costs.
The homes meet passive house standards, with the insulation and ventilation creating a pleasant indoor climate. Following the renovation, the amount of energy residents use is extremely small.
