Consortium builds 9 social housing units in just two months.
In the Ter Dauten neighborhood in Diepenbeek, the consortium Dethier, Machiels Building Solutions, and B+Architecten, commissioned by Wonen in Limburg, has built nine social housing units using modular construction.
Where there were still undeveloped plots before the construction break, there now stand fully move-in-ready and energy-efficient homes.
Thanks to a well-thought-out modular building method, speed was successfully combined with quality, sustainability, and affordability. This project demonstrates that building for the future can also be efficient — without compromising on living comfort or aesthetics.
“We are particularly pleased that we can build in an efficient and high-quality way, allowing us to reduce the shortage of affordable housing more quickly. Visually, you can’t tell the difference between a traditional and a modular home, and in terms of quality, they are certainly on par.” — Dries Deferm, Chairman of Wonen in Limburg, St. Barbarastraat
