Ultra-modern logistics complex for Brussels Airport Compagny.
The design and build team Cordeel – archipelago and VK architects won the competition at the end of 2022 by proposing a strong otwerp based on a sustainable development strategy, for a more than 34,000 m² logistics complex and associated offices.
A symbolic drilling of the first foundation pile announced the start of works for Brussels Airport Compagny’s new warehouses and offices. This project offers a pleasant working environment within the airport’s logistics setting by focusing on extra greenery and by integrating vegetation into the building. The offices were built entirely in wood, engineered and produced by Machiels Building Solutions, with maximum use of circular materials and reversibility.
This project was realised in line with Brussels Airport’s sustainable development strategy which aims for zero CO2 emissions, with BREEAM-Excellent certification.
